Martin Doyle
Martin Doyle began working for Anglo American in 1977 as a Field Geologist conducting diamond exploration in Botswana and is currently employed by De Beers in Canada as the Exploration Manager
In 1980, Martin relocated to the De Beers Marine office in Cape Town where he worked for 10 years in the evaluation and development of Namibia and South Africa marine diamond deposits reaching the position of Test Mining Production Superintendent. Thereafter, Martin moved to Southern Chile for 2 years, where he brought his extensive marine experience to his position of Project Manager for the Anglo American Tierramar Marine Gold Project.
On completion of this project in 1992, Martin remained in South America two more years conducting diamond exploration in Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay before returning to South Africa in 1993, to become the Deputy Manager of the De Beers Geoscience Centre. The Geoscience Centre, formerly the Geology Laboratory for Anglo American Research Laboratories (AARL) provides research support for De Beers Diamond Exploration worldwide.
In 1997, Martin was transferred to De Beers Canada and was immediately seconded to Brazil to undertake diamond exploration. He became the Exploration Manager for South America in 2000 and in April 2004 moved to Toronto to accept his new position as Exploration Manager for Canada.
Martin graduated in 1977 with a BSc (Hons) Geology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland and obtained an M.B.A in 1986 from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
